MasterSeeker

MasterSeeker’s purpose is to help you locate files and/or folders. The nice thing about this application is that it was built with speed in mind. It will take but a moment to get started with the application. And once it’s up and running, it will find the file you’re looking for in a blink. The speed is quite amazing! And the price is great too – MasterSeeker is free (donations are welcome).

As mentioned above, it will take but a moment to get started with MasterSeeker. That’s because MasterSeeker does not need to be installed. Just download a small archive (less than 1MB in size), extract its contents, run the MasterSeeker executable, and you’re done.

Start typing a file’s name and the search results will be displayed as a list on the main panel of the interface. You’ll see that the results are refined as you type along. Speaking about that, the typing is done in the text boxes at the top. There’s one for entering the file name, one for specifying the directory, and one for picking a specific file size. These boxes will help you enter a search query and filter the results.

Say you’re looking for a file called “FindMySoft.” To find it, you just need to start typing its name in MasterSeeker’s interface. The application will start throwing search results at you immediately as you start typing. And as you start typing, it will filter out the results. You can further filter the list of results by specifying a directory or drive and by specifying the file size.

Double click an item from the list of results and it will be opened with the default application associated with that file type. For example, if you double click a JPG file, it will be opened with Windows Photo Viewer – or whatever image viewer is set as the default on your PC.

Right click an item and you will be presented with a context menu that lists the following options: open, open containing folder, copy, copy file name, copy full path, copy containing folder path, delete permanently, properties.
